When Steph Curry retires, he’ll most likely still be considered the greatest shooter ever to play basketball, but he may be looking to also be great at another profession.
Curry has been open about making an impact off the court, and politics may be in the plans for the next phase of his life. In an interview with “CBS Mornings,” he was asked if he would consider going into politics when his basketball career is over.
“Maybe. I have an interest in leveraging every part of my influence for good in the way that I can,” Curry said. “So if that’s the way to do it – I’m not saying the presidency…but if politics is the way that you can create meaningful change, or if there’s another way we can do.”
Curry is already very familiar with the White House, after visiting two times with the Golden State Warriors for winning the NBA Championship in 2015 and 2022.
Aaron Rodgers is another current athlete whose name was recently floated around for a future in politics after betting lines had the New York Jets quarterback on the list to be in the running for vice president on Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s ticket. Kennedy confirmed that Rodgers was at the top of his list as his running mate.
