Normani has announced her new single, “1:59,“ will drop on April 26.
The former Fifth Harmony star recently teased fans that her debut solo album, Dopamine, is on the way. She has now announced that the project’s first single will also feature rapper Gunna.
Normani shared a video on TikTok announcing the single. In the video, fans can hear a snippet of the song as Normani lip-syncs the lyrics.
“Soo basically my first single ‘1:59’ will be coming out 4/26,” she wrote.
And Normani has promised fans that the new music will be worth the wait.
“I know what I’ve been through. For me, this upcoming album is not just about music coming out. It feels like a representation of everything I’ve gone through to get to this moment … I know I needed time, experiences and space coming out of [Fifth Harmony] in order to become the version of myself I needed to be. Without [all of that], I would not be able to exist within the creative space that I am in now. I would not be able to make the type of music I’m making now,” she told Who What Wear in February.
Fifth Harmony split in 2018, and Normani released her first solo single, “Motivation,” in August 2019. She went on to release singles, including “Diamonds,” “Bad to You,” “Wild Side,” “Fair” and “New to You.” However, Dopamine will be her debut solo album.
