Lizzo has reached her breaking point.
The “About Damn Time” singer wrote a heartfelt message in an Instagram post on Friday, March 29, that gave fans a glimpse of her frustrations stating that she is “getting tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone in my life and on the internet.”
“All I want is to make music and make people happy and help the world be a little better than how I found it,” the 35-year-old artist continued. “But I’m starting to feel like the world doesn’t want me in it. I’m constantly up against lies being told about me for clout & views … being the butt of the joke every single time because of how I look.”
Within the post she also stated that her character is being “picked apart by people who don’t know me and [are] disrespecting my name,” before ending the emotional post with a cryptic sign off of “I didn’t sign up for this s— — I QUIT ✌🏾.”
Fans and celebrities alike were quick to comment on the post and offered words of encourage and support.
“The ppl need u Lizzo,” wrote Latto. “I remember U made me keep going when I wanted to quit before. Ur soul is SO pure f— these ppl that don’t know you! TEAM LIZZO 4L.”
“Girl don’t let them win…stay off the internet.. hug up yo man… keep working,” encouraged comedian and actress Loni Love.
Lizzo’s post comes nearly two months after her request to dismiss a sexual harassment lawsuit brought on by three former background dancers was denied by a judge.
