Former Miami Dolphins cornerback Vontae Davis was found dead at a residence in Southwest Ranches, Florida on the morning of April 1.

According to property records, the home was owned by Davis’ grandmother, Adaline Davis. Police say that no foul play was involved in Davis’ death. Chester Frazier — an assistant coach at Davis’ alma mater, the University of Illinois — posted the news on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Davis played 10 seasons in the NFL for the Dolphins, Indianapolis Colts and Buffalo Bills. He’s most notable for retiring in the middle of a game while he was with the Bills. He was named to the Pro Bowl with the Colts in 2014 and 2015.

Davis is also the brother of former NFL tight end, Vernon Davis.
