Blanco Brown is “getting better” with every passing year following his motorcycle accident.

The singer was involved in a near-fatal crash in August 2020 and suffered two broken legs, shattered wrists and a broken pelvis, He admitted that after making a full recovery, he is now trying to make sure that his mental health is getting better as well.

“I feel better than I felt last year, so I think I’ll keep on getting better with the years. I already eat clean, so it’s a blessing in that, and that’s a factor of life. But I try to make sure I keep my mental health that way. My body will follow,” he told “Entertainment Tonight.”

The “Just the Way” hitmaker previously explained how prior to his accident, he was in the studio every day and was considering getting back to the studio to create more music following his 2019 debut.

“Prior to my accident, I worked just about every single day on music. It’s time to get back to that and create during this healing process. All this pain had me down for the count, but it won’t defeat my purpose —  it’s now apart of it!” Brown wrote on Instagram.

Brown underwent a 12-hour operation following the crash to save his life. He explained afterward that while his body was “broken” throughout the recovery process, his spirit was not.

“Some days are up, and then some days are pain,” he told Billboard. “You just really don’t know what day you’re going to get until you get up and start trying to move around and do the physical therapy and stuff. It was a scary moment, but I’m just glad that God had his arms around me.

“The accident was not my fault. That’s all I can speak on right at this moment,” Brown continued. “I couldn’t move at all. I couldn’t turn in the bed. I had external pipes sticking out of my body holding my pelvis together. I had to learn how to do simple things. I couldn’t feed myself. I was broken, but it didn’t break my spirit.”
