Megan Thee Stallion is giving some insight on how her renewed self-care routine is helping to make her a better artist and songwriter.

In a cover story with Women’s Health published on Wednesday, April 10, the 29-year-old rapper opened up about the depression she’d been in since her 2020 shooting at the hands of Tory Lanez and how seeking therapy helped her breakthrough and get back to a good place so that she could feel good making music again.

“It took me a while to acknowledge that I was depressed,” Meg revealed. “But once I started talking to a therapist, I was able to be truthful with myself.”

After taking step of deleting social media off her phone for a while, the Traumazine artist then locked in on staying on a dedicated workout routine.

“Working on myself made me get into working out because I needed to focus my energy somewhere else,” she confessed. “I used working out to escape and to get happy.”

To further exemplify how serious the Hot Girl Productions boss was about her goals, she even gave up her favorite brown liquor (though she did swap for tequila for less sugar) and began journaling to help organize her thoughts a bit more.

“I was inspired to create this album about rebirth because I feel I am becoming a new person physically and mentally,” proclaimed the Houston Hottie.

Megan is hard at work on her upcoming third studio album and mostly recently featured on Glorilla’s latest single, “Wanna Be”, which has sparked a new viral dance challenge.
