Rising rapper GloRilla is in hot water with Georgia officials after being arrested and charged with driving under the influence, failure to obey a traffic control device, and possessing an open container in a motor vehicle.
The 24-year-old rapper born Gloria Hallelujah Woods was pulled over and arrested in the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 16, in Suwanee, Georgia, after allegedly making an illegal U-Turn at a red light, according to a report obtained by People. The officer who pulled her over “immediately noticed her eyes to be watery and bloodshot” and stated they could smell alcohol on her breath and marijuana in the vehicle.
While refusing to admit how many drinks she consumed, the “Yeah Glo!” artist reportedly confessed to having had alcohol earlier in the day but that she “was good to drive.”
The arresting officer noted that “her sentences were not always making sense and that she had a hard time finishing her thoughts.” Per the report, Glo struggled through a number of field sobriety tests, refused to consent to a portable breath test, and was then arrested for driving under the influence. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, police found open bottles of alcohol and marijuana.
Woods was taken to the Gwinnett County Detention Center, where she was booked and processed in about three and a half hours before being released on a $1956 bond.
GloRilla most recently released her heavily anticipated new mixtape, Ehhthang Ehhthang, to all digital streaming platforms on April 5.
