Regina King is back in the director’s chair fresh off of her riveting portrayal of legendary Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm in Netflix’s Shirley.
The 53-year-old renaissance woman directs three of six episodes for the forthcoming limited series “Man In Full.” The ensemble drama follows the life of Charlie Crocker (Jeff Daniels), an uber-wealthy Atlanta real estate boss whose life is flipped upside down when he has to go through bankruptcy.
We meet Crocker’s ex-wife Martha (Diane Lane), incumbent mayor Wes Jordan (William Jackson Harper), successful beauty company founder Joyce Newman (Lucy Liu), and a host of others whose lives are all interconnected through an intense storyline of high-stakes political backstabbing and power struggles.
Executive produced by David E. Kelley, the other three episodes of the series will be directed by Thomas Schlamme (“The West Wing”), and will also star Aml Ameen, Chanté Adams, Jon Michael Hill, Sarah Jones, and Tom Pelphrey.
“Man in Full” debuts on Netflix on May 2.
