Lawrence Watford directs fascinating film on MLK coming of age

Independent director Lawrence Watford, aka “Law,” struck gold when he acquired the rights to Patrick Parr’s book The Seminarian: Martin Luther King Jr. Comes of Age. This acquisition led to a fascinating film that delves into MLK’s formative years—long before he became a pastor in Birmingham before he led the Civil Rights Movement, and before he was martyred in Memphis.
