Many fans savaged rap icon Eminem for referencing Megan Thee Stallion’s feet in his new single “Houdini” which dropped on Friday, May 31.

The superlative lyricist from Detroit, aka “Slim Shady,” has been renowned throughout his illustrious and record-breaking career for his penchant for producing provocative bars. He is now back with a new album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce), with “Houdini” serving as the scorcher of a lead single.

The opening track name-drops label owner Jimmy Iovine and legendary producer Dr. Dre — who discovered the rapper named Marshall Mathers — and then even throws shade at Eminem’s own children. Em also requests a collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion.

However, Eminem bizarrely references Megan by making light of the fact that she got shot in the feet by Tory Lanez in Los Angeles in 2020. Lanez was convicted in court for the crime and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Lanez is also subject to deportation back to his Canadian homeland when he is freed from confinement.

“If I was to ask for Megan Thee Stallion if she would collab with me/ Would I really have a shot at a feat,” Mathers raps.

Many fans were not amused by Eminem trivializing Megan’s traumatic experience of being permanently scarred by the violent episode, both physically and mentally.

“Eminem’s career has largely been built on being shocking and provocative to certain audiences … Being 51 years old and taking shots at Megan Thee Stallion? Out of touch,” a fan penned on X.

A second fan was even more blunt, writing, “Eminem can houdini his a– to hell. LEAVE MEGAN ALOOOONEEEEE TF!!”

Some, conversely, welcomed the return of the confrontational version of Eminem who specializes in trolling and gaslighting fans.

“So many people saying Eminem made an unnecessary comment at Megan. WE SO BACK this the EM I love!!!” one fan said.

Despite the outrage expressed by lots of fans, many more checked out the video for the song, which has garnered an astounding 28 million views in just 48 hours.
