Each year, the ESPYs honor a team or player for the best play of the season, and this year’s winner was a clear choice. On July 11, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson claimed the ESPYs’ Best Play award for catching his own pass during the AFC Championship against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Jackson, who recently secured his second NFL MVP award, has become the 11th player in history to achieve the honor multiple times. He led the Ravens to the best record in the league and continues to show how dynamic of a player he is. Jackson resembles another electrifying quarterback: Michael Vick.

This season, Jackson threw for 3,678 yards with 24 touchdowns and seven interceptions, while rushing for 821 yards and five touchdowns. He led the Ravens to the AFC Championship, where they lost to the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.
Lamar and the Ravens will be looking to improve this season after adding All-Pro running back Derrick Henry in free agency.
