In a delightful blend of motherhood and design, Candace Parker, the newly appointed head of Adidas Women’s Basketball, shares her journey of creating a serene nursery for her newborn, Hartt Summitt Petrakov Parker. This vibrant space, crafted in collaboration with Crate & Kids, reflects her family’s love and creativity.

Welcoming baby Hartt

On June 10, Parker announced the arrival of her second child with her wife, Anya Petrakova. The couple now enjoys the beautiful chaos of raising three children: a teenager, a toddler and an infant. Parker, who recently retired from the WNBA, embraces every moment with her family, describing them as her favorite teammates.

Designing the perfect nursery

The nursery, inspired by a safari theme, features warm terracotta walls and rich earthy tones. Parker expressed her excitement about the design process, stating that the Crate & Kids team made the process simple.

Here are some key features of the nursery:

Color palette: Warm browns and soft greens create a cozy atmosphere.

Furniture: A luxurious glider and sage green dresser add elegance and comfort.

Decor: Jungle-inspired crib quilts and playful lion imagery enhance the safari theme.

Balancing motherhood and self-care

As a mother of three, Parker likens her parenting style to adjusting a basketball defense strategy. Despite her busy schedule, Parker finds joy in family activities, stating that her favorite form of self-care is simply spending time with her children.
