Apple TV+ set to air season 2 of ‘Silo’ starring David Oyelowo and Common

Apple TV+ has exciting news for fans of its post-apocalyptic sci-fi series, “Silo.” During the San Diego Comic-Con, they announced that the show will return for its highly anticipated season 2 on Nov. 15, 2024.


What to expect in season 2

Joining the stellar cast for the upcoming season is Steve Zahn, alongside returning favorites such as David Oyelowo, Common and others. The announcement was made during a special fan panel featuring Rebecca Ferguson, who also serves as an executive producer, and creator Graham Yost.


New episodes will be released weekly every Friday, culminating in the season finale on Jan. 17, 2025.

Series overview

“Silo” is based on the bestselling trilogy Wool by Hugh Howey. The series explores the lives of the last ten thousand people on Earth, living in a mile-deep silo that protects them from the toxic world outside. The story follows Juliette (played by Ferguson), an engineer who investigates a loved one’s murder, uncovering a mystery that could threaten their very existence.


Common’s unique role

In a recent interview, Common shared insights about his character, Robert Sims, and how it differs from his previous roles. He emphasized the importance of questioning authority and the government. His character works for Judicial, the governing body in “Silo,” and his motivations stem from a desire to protect the people.

“Silo” is produced by Apple Studios, with a talented team of executive producers including Graham Yost, Rebecca Ferguson, and Hugh Howey, among others.

As anticipation builds for season 2 of “Silo,” fans can look forward to more thrilling episodes that delve into the mysteries of the silo and the characters’ struggles for truth and survival.
