At only 31, Tinashe is an entertainment veteran. The singer, songwriter, dancer, and actress, who recorded a “Tiny Desk” concert earlier this year, appeared on the hit CBS sitcom “Two and a Half Men” as a teenager and soon after began making noise in the music industry. The quadruple threat has collaborated with singers Usher and Chris Brown and hip-hop artists Future and Offset. She is currently on her Match My Freak world tour, which recently touched down in front of a sold-out diverse crowd at the Brooklyn Paramount in New York City.
The Match My Freak World Tour gets its name from her 2024 mega-hit “Nasty,” which quickly gained popularity through numerous social media dance challenges. Tinashe ended her 75-minute set with the song that was so popular that global entertainment icon Janet Jackson incorporated it into her tour when she performed her song of the same name, which was released nearly four decades ago.
Joined by four male dancers, Tinashe displayed her dance moves while singing her catalog of mostly up-tempo and mid-tempo songs. She performed an updated version of her highest-charting Billboard single, “2 On,” in front of the crowd at the mostly standing-room-only venue.
Tinashe got seductive on the stage with one of her male dancers when she performed “Bouncin, Part 2.” A second dancer recorded video of the two dancing that played on the giant screen behind them. She also performed the latest single off her album Quantum Baby, “No Broke Boys,” as well as “Cross That Line.” Other songs included the original version of “Bouncin” and “Link Up.”
The Match My Freak World Tour is scheduled to touch down in Chicago, London, Osaka, Paris, Toronto and several cities in Australia.
Chief Keef performs at the Brooklyn Paramount later this month.
