It’s easy to experience New Orleans while in California now, thanks to Disneyland’s newest ride and attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is located in Disneyland’s newly renamed Bayou Country, where it figuratively brings New Orleans to Anaheim. The Southern vibes are there; whether it’s the soulful jazz music being played while exploring Bayou Country or the Dixieland Jazz musicians tap dancing while they play. You’ll almost forget that you are even in California for a second.

It’s the movie come to life

The attraction is set after the events of the Walt Disney Animation Studios film The Princess and the Frog, as Tiana prepares to hold a one-of-a-kind Mardi Gras feast in honor of her family-owned business, Tiana’s Foods. You’ll get immersed into the entire Princess and the Frog storyline as you meet Princess Tiana, Mama Odie, Gator Pal Louis, and a slew of delightful other characters. The ensemble of familiar and new acquaintances, along with a humorous plot and catchy music throughout, creates the perfect storm for fans of The Princess and The Frog, even for those who haven’t watched the iconic Disney film yet.

There is so much to do in Bayou Country: You can get on a boat and ride across the bayou while enjoying the scenery of Princess Tiana’s palace.

The food screams New Orleans

When it’s time to eat, there is no shortage of options. Get the best Southern food in maybe all of California right at the palace. Tiana Palace’s brings you some of the most authentic New Orleans cuisine you will find anywhere, with a menu that includes classics like Catfish Po’boy, Jambalaya, House Gumbo, 7 Greens Gumbo with Chicken and Andouille Sausage, and a couple other recipes from Tiana’s cookbook.

The Palace also serves sweets such as Classic and Strawberry-filled Beignets. For guests who aren’t big on seafood, there’s the Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree in New Orleans Square, where you can choose from a bunch of barbecue options like the Smoked Barbecue Combo Platter with your selection of smoked meats, barbecue pulled pork sandwiches, and smoked beef brisket sandwiches, just to name a few.

A chance to get wet in the bayou

As far as the rides are concerned, there’s Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which replaces Splash Mountain, and gives Disney’s first Black princess a ride of her own for the world to enjoy. The ride is well worth the wait too, as it takes you through Princess Tiana’s journey, human and frog, while finding cute moments to include other characters from the beloved movie. Yes, you will get wet, but a few splashes shouldn’t stop you from enjoying the best ride Disneyland has to offer. Disney put an amazing spin on one of the most beloved rides in Disney history and if you liked Splash Mountain, you will love the Princess Tiana iteration.

And before leaving Bayou Country, make sure to stop at Louis’ Critter Club and or Eudora’s Chic Boutique to get your The Princess and The Frog souvenirs. You can get a Princess Tiana doll, which is absolutely gorgeous, or Princess Tiana’s cookbook or even a light-up firefly. If your an accessories person, there’s sweaters, caps and T-shirts for you as well.

Princess Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is now open for everyone.
