Snoop Dogg disclosed on “The Jennifer Hudson Show” that he gifted his daughter Cori Broadus one million dollars for her wedding, though she hasn’t opened the present yet.
“The only thing about this gift is she never got to open it — or she hasn’t opened it yet,” Snoop shared, prompting Hudson to ask, “What do you ask for after that?”
The rapper joked about his own spending preferences, saying, “If it were up to me, my wedding would have been $100,000, and $900,000 would have gone in my pocket.”
Wedding plans were paused after Cori suffered a stroke in January. Cori, who has been open about her struggles with lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease, shared details of her stroke on social media, describing it as a “life-changing” experience. She continues documenting her recovery as she and fiancé Wayne Deuce, who proposed in 2022, look toward their future celebration.
The couple’s journey, including Cori’s health challenges and wedding preparations, features in the upcoming E! News docuseries “Snoop’s Fatherhood: Cori and Wayne’s Story,” premiering Dec 5.
Cori expressed grand wedding aspirations in the show’s teaser, including hopes for Justin Bieber to perform. “I’m a princess, so the prince has got to do it big,” she stated.
Drawing from his 27-year marriage to Shanté Broadus, Snoop offered relationship wisdom: “When you’re young, and you’re in love, the best advice you can give people is experience… they have to experience that on their own.”
He endorsed Wayne as his daughter’s partner, noting, “I know [Deuce] is the one; as a father, you know. Because as a father, one thing you know is when it’s your baby girl, you ain’t finna hand her off to nobody who ain’t gonna handle her with care.”
In addition to his family matters, Snoop Dogg has had a busy 2024. He made a surprise appearance at the Tokyo Olympics, performing during the closing ceremony and delighting fans worldwide. The legendary rapper has also been working on new music, with plans to release a collaborative album with hip-hop icon Dr. Dre later this year.
