Someone busted open Jamie Foxx’s mouth with flying glass during an altercation at a world-famous restaurant in Beverly Hills, Calif., over the weekend.

The multi-hyphenate Oscar winner was at Mr. Chow on the globally famous Rodeo Drive with friends and family, including daughters Corrine and Anelise Foxx, Kristin Grannis and others. According to TMZ, Beverly Hills cops raced to the scene of a report of a fight at the upscale eatery at around 10 p.m. on Friday the 13th.

Why the altercation with Jamie Foxx broke out

A spokesperson for Foxx, 56, and a witness at the restaurant told the entertainment publication that patrons who were sitting at a table in proximity to Foxx were being “rude” and “vulgar” to the actor. Foxx tried to de-escalate the situation by telling them to tone down their toxic behavior when someone from the offending table threw a glass at Foxx which injured him and required temporary hospitalization.

Jamie Foxx had to go to the hospital

The spokesperson told TMZ in a statement that “Jamie Foxx was at his birthday dinner when someone from another table threw a glass that hit him in the mouth. He had to get stitches and is recovering. The police were called and the matter is now in law enforcement’s hands.”

Hearing about this episode in that area is shocking. The entire Rodeo Drive corridor is synonymous with glamor, sophistication, and peace. In fact, Foxx and his crew visited Mr. Chow earlier in the week to celebrate the success of his Netflix special, “What Had Happened.”

No word yet if the person who threw the glass or the party who engaged in untoward behavior towards Foxx and his family have been interrogated by the police.
