In the heart of Detroit, where concrete meets consciousness, Shaman Shu has created more than just a spiritual sanctuary—he’s built a bridge between ancient wisdom and modern healing. As the founder of Soul Tribes International Ministries and The House of Shu, his journey from a $250 million private equity firm to becoming a global spiritual healer embodies a remarkable transformation that touches millions of lives.

Initiated into meditation at age four by his father and nurtured in faith by his prophetess mother, Shaman Shu’s path weaves through the mystical traditions of African shamanism, Thai Buddhist practices, and various spiritual lineages across continents. Now, through his groundbreaking integration of ancient healing practices with modern technology, he’s expanding accessibility to spiritual wellness in unprecedented ways. His free global shamanic healing channel, reaching over 200 million homes worldwide, combines the sacred teachings of Thai monks with artificial intelligence, offering hope and healing to those struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and spiritual disconnection.

Through The House of Shu, he continues to bridge the gap between ancient wisdom and contemporary needs, proving that spiritual transformation is not just possible—it’s accessible to everyone seeking it.

What is your mission for giving to those who don’t have spiritual guidance?

Our mission is to provide accessible spiritual healing and education, creating a bridge between ancient wisdom and modern life. Through The House of Shu’s free global shamanic channel, we aim to deliver teachings, meditations, and rituals into over 200 million homes worldwide, addressing mental, emotional, and spiritual challenges. We focus on empowering individuals to heal themselves, reconnect with their divine purpose, and thrive, no matter their circumstances.

Share three spiritual emotions that you experienced as you do spiritual impact work.

  • Gratitude: Witnessing lives transform through spiritual healing fills me with a profound sense of thankfulness for this sacred work.
  • Compassion: Feeling the struggles and triumphs of those I guide reminds me of our shared humanity and interconnectedness.
  • Unity: Experiencing the oneness of all beings during healing sessions brings a euphoric realization of universal connection.

What have been the two high points of your year?

  1. Launching the first free global shamanic healing channel on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and Apple TV, which now reaches over 200 million homes. This platform combines the healing practices of Thai monks with the power of AI, addressing issues like anxiety, depression, PTSD, and spiritual disconnection.
  2. Hosting transformative healing retreats, where attendees experienced life-changing breakthroughs in mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness.

What have you done to elevate yourself and your business?

I have embraced digital innovation, blending ancient practices with modern tools. By launching our global shamanic streaming network, we’ve created a platform that integrates the healing wisdom of Thai monks with the capabilities of AI, combining organic intelligence and artificial intelligence to bring spiritual teachings into people’s homes. Personally, I’ve deepened my practice through meditation, advanced spiritual studies, and collaborations with global leaders in healing and innovation.

What did you learn about yourself that taught you something new?

I learned that patience is a superpower. The process of building something meaningful takes time, but it also strengthens resolve, creativity, and trust in divine timing. This realization helped me embrace growth as a journey rather than a destination.

How do you see yourself incorporating AI in three ways that will make you a different and more successful brand?

  1. Personalized Healing: Using AI to design tailored spiritual programs based on individual needs.
  2. Global Reach: Expanding the accessibility of ancient teachings through AI-driven content creation, including meditations and videos.
  3. Interactive Learning: Leveraging AI to create engaging, interactive experiences for spiritual seekers, merging ancient wisdom with cutting-edge technology.

How did you listen to people with a new ear for value sharing?

I practiced active listening, focusing on what people truly needed, even if they couldn’t articulate it directly. This allowed me to create services and programs that not only meet their spoken needs but also address their deeper, often unspoken, desires for healing and transformation.

Where did you travel that made you appreciate culture more?

My journeys to Ethiopia and South Africa deeply enriched my appreciation for African spiritual traditions. Exploring their ancient wisdom, resilience, and sense of community reminded me of the importance of preserving and sharing these teachings with the world.

Name three people that inspired you and what you learned from them.

  1. My Mother and Father: They taught me to have faith in oneself and the wisdom of “eating the meat and spitting out the bones”—extracting value from all spiritual teachings while leaving behind what doesn’t serve.
  2. Guru Padma: His teachings showed me that everything I see is coming out of me. This transformed my perspective, helping me understand that by changing myself, I can change my world.
  3. Tony Robbins, Sadhguru, and Guru Padma:
    • Tony Robbins: Inspired me with his relentless focus on emotional mastery and personal growth.
    • Sadhguru: Taught me how to seamlessly integrate spirituality into everyday life.
    • Guru Padma: Reinforced the importance of self-reflection and inner transformation.

How will the world see you differently in the new year?

The world will see me as a pioneer in blending ancient wisdom with modern technology. Through our free global shamanic healing network, I aim to expand healing opportunities worldwide, empowering individuals to overcome mental, emotional, and spiritual barriers. The House of Shu will stand as a beacon for accessible and transformative spiritual guidance.

Name three podcasts that you listen to and would recommend to others and why.

  1. The Mindvalley Podcast: Offers actionable insights on personal and spiritual growth from global thought leaders.
  2. On Being with Krista Tippett: Engages in profound conversations about life, faith, and humanity.
  3. The Tim Ferriss Show: Delivers practical strategies and inspiration from top performers across industries.

How does faith give you courage and strength?

Faith reminds me that I am a vessel for divine energy. It gives me the strength to face challenges, knowing that I am guided by something greater, and the courage to continue my mission of healing and empowerment, no matter the obstacles.

Two books you would recommend.

  1. “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle: A guide to living in the present and finding peace in the moment.
  2. “The Autobiography of a Yogi” by Paramahansa Yogananda: A profound exploration of spiritual awakening and the pursuit of divine truth.
