Pleasure P, the renowned R&B singer and former member of the popular group Pretty Ricky, has recently taken to social media to share some heartfelt updates about his life and his bandmates. Over the holiday season, he addressed several pressing issues, including his demand for recognition from Lil Wayne for co-writing the iconic track “Lollipop,” and the struggles faced by his fellow group member, Slick’em Hound.

Pleasure P’s call for recognition

On Dec. 28, Pleasure P publicly called out Lil Wayne, seeking acknowledgment and royalties for his contributions to the hit song “Lollipop.” This revelation has sparked conversations about the importance of recognizing songwriters and collaborators in the music industry, particularly within the African American community, where many talented artists often go unrecognized for their contributions.

Concerns for Slick’em Hound

In a poignant Instagram post on Dec. 29, Pleasure P expressed his deep concern for Slick’em Hound, revealing that he is battling a heroin addiction. “They got one of my brothers on heroin,” Pleasure P shared. “And I don’t want to talk his business. But I miss him, and I wish I could talk to Slick’em.”

The legacy of Pretty Ricky

Pretty Ricky burst onto the music scene in 2005 with their debut single “Grind With Me,” quickly becoming a staple in the R&B genre. The original lineup included Pleasure P, Spectacular, Baby Blue, and Slick’em Hound, and they released two successful albums that solidified their place in music history. However, Pleasure P left the group in 2008 to pursue a solo career, achieving significant success with hits like “Boyfriend #2” and “Did You Wrong.” He later reunited with Pretty Ricky in 2015, but a final album has yet to be released.

Upcoming tours and collaborations

Despite the challenges faced by his group, Pleasure P continues to thrive in his career. He is set to join Bow Wow, Trey Songz, and Omarion on the upcoming Millennium Tour in March. This tour has become a beloved annual event, celebrating the early 2000s Hip-Hop and R&B landscape, featuring acts like The Yin Yang Twins, Ray J, Sammie, and Nieva. The previous tours have seen reunions of iconic groups, including B2K, further emphasizing the nostalgia and impact of this era in music.

In 2025, Pleasure P will also embark on a nationwide R&B tour alongside Ne-Yo and Mario, showcasing his enduring appeal and talent. His impressive catalog includes collaborations with notable artists such as Flo-Rida, DJ Khaled, and Fat Joe, further solidifying his status in the industry.
