Playboy is celebrating its return to print for the first time in five years by splashing socialite Lori Harvey’s curvaceous body on its cover issue.
The resuscitation of the iconic, albeit controversial, magazine was announced in a joint post that Lori Harvey’s five million Instagram followers saw this past weekend.
The obvious question, as one user inquired directly and succinctly:
Most pop culture observers probably didn’t see this move coming from the 28-year-old stepdaughter of comedic legend Steve Harvey and daughter of Marjorie Harvey.
The younger Harvey has always moved in silence, whether it’s finding a romantic partner and breaking up with him, traveling the globe, or entering into fruitful partnerships. The Memphis, Tenn.-born beauty, who was raised in Atlanta, became a model for luxury brands like Dolce & Gabbana, Michael Kors, and Valentino.
This latest move, however, perplexes her vast followership. In the magazine cover spread photo shoot, Harvey is leaning seductively against a luxury whip and cloaked in risque outfits
Lori Harvey’s ‘Playboy’ spread generates mixed reactions.
Some fans of the Instagram influencer and businesswoman are anxious to get their own copy and laud her courage. Others, however, said she has thrown herself to the streets and such a cover is beneath her.
“She’s always going to be my favorite ❤️🔥🔥🔥,” said one fan.
A second person said Harvey has cheapened herself with this audacious move. “She’s exploiting herself and she’s too beautiful for that! Money ain’t everything when it calls for you to lose your integrity as a woman who is God’s gift to men! But she’s precious and delicate so “Handle with Care!”🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.”
A third IG user voiced disapproval of the move, saying, “Back to the Streets for Attention and Validation 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡.”
A fourth person loves Harveys surprising actions, “❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ you never cease to amaze us Ms. Harvey!!,” while a fifth person is discontented, adding: “And this is for the streets 🤮🤮🤮🤢🤢🤢 making your dad hardworking be nothing and also bad and for and belongs to the streets you won’t find anyone you like being like this.”
