Murder Inc. founder and mastermind Irv Gotti reportedly suffered a second, more severe stroke on Tuesday, Feb. 5, and is said to be in critical condition.

According to reports from Hip Hop News Uncensored and AllHIpHop.com, Gotti, 54, was raced to the hospital after the stroke, with conflicting reports as to the severity of the medical malady and his current condition.

Gotti has been saddled with health issues for years that can be traced back to his diabetes.

After initially refusing to confirm that he suffered his first stroke in early 2024, Gotti finally confirmed it through a representative. Photographs later surfaced of him walking with a cane and looking considerably slimmer.

Last August, the rep told Hot 97 : “Irv has been struggling with diabetes for years, which caused him to have a minor stroke over six months ago. He has since changed his diet to eating more healthy. He’s been successful in making a full recovery. Irv is not in a rehab facility. He is at home with his family, enjoying life.”

That was last year though.

Gotti elaborated about his struggle with diabetes during an episode of the “Drink Champs” podcast. Gotti admitted that he failed to take his insulin consistently. He said his doctors also implored Gotti to change his diet and increase his exercise regimen, which he said he had adhered to, according to his rep.

In another interview, this time with AllHipHop.com, Gotti said, “Diabetes is deteriorating my body.”

Rumors are swirling furiously on social media, particularly X, that Gotti is in critical condition. None of these reports can be confirmed as Gotti’s inner circle has yet to address the media after multiple inquiries.

Gotti soared to international fame when he founded Murder Inc., towards the close of the previous century. The music label produced major stars like Ja Rule, Ashanti, and Charli Baltimore.
