This week is loaded with hits
Key! (Photo courtesy of Key!)

Hello, it’s Friday, time to press play. Last week we saw the return of arguably the biggest artist of our generation with Some Sexy Songs 4 U. This week the names aren’t as big, but they are all stars in their own right. We get the return of one of the most soulful voices in the game. We get new music from one of Atlanta’s finest. We also got some fire singles, so let’s dive in.

The best this Friday

Eye Feel Free – Key!

One of Atlanta’s most slept-on artists made his 2025 debut. Eye Feel Free opens up with “Every Day” where Key! floats over the funky beat for more than two minutes. The album is filled with a bunch of different pockets. You want pop? It‘s there with “Liar.” You want a slower vibe? Listen to “Go Dumb.” If you want something to vibe with your shorty, turn on “Funny.” We even get the return of I Love Makonnen. Solid tape to kick of Q1, I smell a big year for Key!

Standout tracks: “Liar,” “Funny,” “Go Dumb” ft. Omari Shakir and “Popstar Benny Freestyle”

Jupiter – NAO

If I was to say which singer has the voice of an angel, it would easily be NAO. Her voice is so heavenly yet filled with so much soul, it makes you wonder if she grew up singing in church. It’s been a long seven years, but NAO made her return to music today with “Jupiter” and she takes us through the wild journey her life has been since she last released. She sings about missing her 20s and how much her 30s have opened her eyes already on “30 Something.” “Happy People” is my personal favorite song; she croons about finally finding her community and how much it’s saved her life. A must listen.

Standout tracks: “Jupiter,” “Happy People,” and “30 Something”

Nothings Ever Good Enough II — Iann Dior

Iann Dior gave us a short EP but he did what had to be done. Iann Dior falls in that Lil Uzi Vert, Juice WRLD vein; he excels at harmonizing and ejecting emotions in every verse he does. He kicks off the EP “Halo” a great intro because first off it’s upbeat and sets a great tone for the rest of the tape. The tape has two features and both rappers snapped as Lil Skies and DC The Don each dropped some of the hardest verses on the entire album. If you weren’t familiar with Iann Dior before, this EP is a perfect introduction to this rockstar.

Standout tracks: “Halo” ft. Lil Skies, “Not Fair,” “All My Exes” and “Next 2 You” ft. DC The Don

SINGLES

Burna Boy — “Update”

The African Giant is back with a smooth banger. The song “Update” is exactly that, something simple from Burna Boy just to let his fans know he is cooking up something big this year.

J.I. the Prince Of N.Y. — “Love You”

J.I. has dropped heat in back-to-back weeks. Is an album on the way? On “Love You,” J.I. flips Mario’s iconic “Let Me Love You” and he did right by it too.

Doe Boy — “HYPOCRITE”

Doe Boy gets to harmonizing on “HYPOCRITE” as he tells this woman all about herself on this track.

Fridayy — “February ’23”

The master of melodies makes his 2025 debut by reminiscing about February 2023. He had just gone to his first Grammy awards then and lost every single one he was nominated for, but regardless he is still thankful because he was able to make it there and finally achieved his music dreams.

Out Miami — Eem Triplin

Eem Triplin dropped a fire album today as well, but the standout track features Ty Dolla $ign and who would’ve thought they would’ve been such a perfect combo?
