Kanye West “didn’t want to have children” with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian. This shocking revelation comes amid ongoing public disputes between the former couple, who have been co-parenting since their separation.

The controversial rapper married the reality star in 2014 and they became parents to four kids – North, 11, Saint, nine, Chicago, seven, and Psalm, five – before divorcing in 2022 but in a new interview Kanye has declared he regrets settling down with his ex. Their high-profile marriage was frequently documented on the Kardashian family’s reality television shows.

“That was my fault. I didn’t want to have children with this person after the first two months of being with her, but that wasn’t God’s plan,” Kanye said during an interview with DJ Akademiks which was published on YouTube. The interview has already garnered significant attention and sparked intense debate across social media platforms.

Kanye went on to express his dismay over the former couple’s custody arrangement, saying: “I don’t got the name and likeness ownership, or at least 50-50 with my kids. So how’s it joint custody? … This situation represents one of many celebrity custody disputes that have played out in the public eye in recent years.

“My kids are celebrities and I don’t have the say so. So this white woman and this white family have the control of these highly influential black kids that are half the children of Ye.” These racial comments have sparked considerable controversy, with many commentators noting the complex racial dynamics at play in this high-profile family situation.

It comes after Kanye previously hit out at the “Kardashian mob” in a scathing rant on social media in which he accused his former partner and her family of limiting his access to the kids and not allowing him to make key decisions about their upbringing – comparing it to being in prison. Legal experts note that custody arrangements typically prioritize the best interests of the children rather than ensuring equal decision-making power.

“Yes I have beef with people that froze my account, took my kids away and have tried to put me in jail and IT’S STUCK …” Kanye wrote in a series of posts on X – formerly known as Twitter. His social media activity has been causing concern among many fans and industry professionals.

“I don’t want to just ‘see’ my kids. I need to raise them. I need to have say so of where they go to school and who their friends are and whose houses they sleep over whether my daughters wear lipstick and perfume …” His parenting concerns reflect common issues in many custody disputes, though the public nature of this particular case has amplified the conversation.

“All these rights have been taken away from my by the Kardashian mob, Hulu and DIsney and the biggest agenda to use the selectively bred Black children to be platforms to influence Black people.” The mention of media companies highlights Kanye‘s belief that commercial interests are influencing his family dynamics, a concern he has expressed repeatedly in various interviews.

He added: “Just seeing my kids is like visitation. It’s like I’m in prison ‘seeing’ my kids. I don’t care if I live or die or if I’m in jail or free … “ds.” The emotional toll of the custody arrangement appears significant, based on these public statements.

Kim Kardashian has largely refrained from responding directly to these accusations, maintaining a more private approach to their co-parenting challenges. Sources close to the reality star have indicated she remains focused on protecting the children from public disputes between their parents.

Child development experts often emphasize the importance of consistent routines and minimizing conflict between co-parents, regardless of celebrity status. Research shows that children of divorce tend to adjust better when parents can maintain respectful communication and consistent boundaries.

The ongoing public nature of this custody dispute has raised questions about privacy and the impact of social media on family court matters. Many legal professionals have noted the increasing influence of public perception on high-profile cases, creating additional challenges for all parties involved.

As this situation continues to unfold, advocates for children’s wellbeing emphasize the importance of prioritizing the emotional health of the four Kardashian-West children amid their parents’ very public disagreements and the intense media scrutiny surrounding their family.
