The Shedeur Sanders NFL era begins in Cleveland.

The son of legendary Hall of Famer and Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion “Prime Time” Sanders was finally picked up after falling precipitously to the fifth round of the NFL Draft. Most analysts had projected Sanders as a first-round prospect.

Shedeur Sanders’ humbling Draft day experience

After most pundits had Sanders being the second quarterback taken on the opening night of the draft on Thursday, April 24, the Browns selected Sanders on the third day of the draft, in the fifth round, with the 144th pick on Saturday afternoon.

The former Buffaloes quarterback will compete with four other prospects for the starting spot during training camp and preseason in the summer.

Sanders’ family partied after finally being picked

Right after Sanders’ name was called, elation filled the house party he hosted at his dad’s mansion. He penned a quick and simple message on X:

Meanwhile, Sanders’ brother Shilo, who played defensive back for the Buffaloes, has signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent.

Coach Prime has manifested his dream of getting both sons into the NFL.

Father Prime typed the same message as his Shadeur Sanders, albeit with different visuals.

Falling to the fifth round sent shockwaves throughout the sports world and reverberated to the home of Coach Prime, who threw a lavish draft-day party on Thursday. The Patriarch, 57, was visibly disappointed when the New Orleans Saints — initially seen as a prime landing spot for Shedeur Sanders — drafted Kelvin Banks instead.
