Streetz 94.5 & Rolling Out host Tacos and Tequila Festival

On Sunday, May 4, 2025, Atlanta’s Piedmont Park transformed into a vibrant celebration of culture and community as Streetz 94.5 and Rolling Out Magazine hosted the annual Tacos and Tequila Festival. From noon until 9 p.m., festival goers experienced a day full of flavor, rhythm, sunshine, and positive energy.

Hosted by Streetz 94.5’s very own Jigi Deniro, the event was a highlight of Cinco de Mayo weekend. The atmosphere was alive with music, laughter, and delicious aromas, as attendees enjoyed a wide range of taco options and tequila selections. The event was open to guests aged 21 and over and attracted visitors from across Atlanta and neighboring cities, many of whom came ready to eat, sip, and vibe.

An all-day celebration of flavor and music

Starting at noon, the festival welcomed attendees to indulge in a curated selection of food and drink options. Multiple food vendors served up a wide range of tacos including traditional carne asada, carnitas, barbacoa, vegetarian, and fusion tacos with creative twists. Some featured unique toppings like mango slaw, chipotle aioli, or pineapple salsa, bringing bold and diverse flavors to the park.

On the tequila side, guests sampled everything from smooth blanco and aged reposado to spicy margaritas and creative tequila cocktails. The event had something for everyone, and attendees took full advantage of the drink tents and pop-up bars located throughout the park.

The vibe was upbeat and welcoming. Whether dancing near the main DJ booth or lounging on the grass with tacos in hand, attendees were clearly enjoying every minute of the experience. With curated DJ sets playing hip hop, reggaeton, Afrobeats, and R&B, music became the heartbeat of the day.

Jigi Deniro brings the energy

Festival host Jigi Deniro, a popular personality from Streetz 94.5, kept the crowd entertained and engaged throughout the event. Her energy matched the tempo of the music and the crowd’s excitement. She interacted with attendees, shouted out vendors, and hyped up every transition between DJs and activities.

Her presence reminded everyone that this was not just a food festival. It was a cultural moment curated by Atlanta’s own Streetz 94.5, a station known for supporting community and culture across the city.

Perfect weather for a perfect day

One of the best parts of the event was the weather. The skies remained mostly sunny for the majority of the afternoon with temperatures hovering in the high 60s to low 70s. A soft breeze made for ideal festival conditions, and attendees came prepared with picnic blankets, sunglasses, and open minds.

From first-timers to seasoned attendees, everyone agreed that Piedmont Park was the perfect backdrop. Lush green grass, tree-lined paths, and plenty of open space made it easy to explore the festival layout, catch up with friends, or find a cozy spot to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

Vendor highlights and community presence

The festival also gave space to local businesses and independent vendors. Throughout the day, guests visited tents and booths featuring everything from handmade crafts and branded merchandise to gourmet desserts and infused condiments.

This focus on supporting local businesses added depth to the experience. The festival was not just about food and drinks, but also about economic opportunity, community building, and platforming small entrepreneurs.

There were also several giveaways happening throughout the day, including Streetz 94.5 merch, free tequila tastings, and prize raffles for future event passes. These giveaways added an element of surprise and fun to the event, giving guests even more reasons to stay engaged from beginning to end.

Cinco de Mayo, Atlanta style

The Tacos and Tequila Festival represented everything that Cinco de Mayo celebrations in Atlanta should be. It honored cultural traditions while creating space for community joy. It provided entertainment while encouraging people to celebrate responsibly. It delivered amazing food and drinks while spotlighting local voices.

What made the event so special was the people. From couples enjoying a day date to groups of friends turning up together, everyone was present with good vibes and positive intentions. It was clear that the goal was not just to party but to celebrate life, food, music, and the beauty of Atlanta itself.
