The ex-girlfriend of NBA superstar Anthony Edwards filed new documents entreating a Los Angeles County court to determine the child support amount.

In the legal filing obtained by In Touch magazine, the mother of Edwards’ child, Ayesha Howard, submitted text messages between her and Edwards where the Minnesota Timberwolves guard claimed he uses condoms during sex when he allegedly did not.

DNA tests prove Anthony Edwards is the father

Their daughter, Aubri Summer Howard, was born in October 2024. Edwards agreed to a paternity test in December 2024, which proved he is the father.

Howard told the court that she moved from Atlanta to Los Angeles before the baby was born and therefore wants the L.A. court to determine child support payment. Edwards countered, claiming Howard is on a money grab because California can potentially order Edwards to pay a higher monthly rate than Georgia.

L.A. County refused to determine child support for Howard

The L.A. County court denied Howard before, saying California was not the right place to determine child support, but she has now filed for a second time. In Touch reports that the court set a date for a hearing to determine if L.A. can determine such support.

Howard told the court that “Throughout these proceedings, Mr. Edwards and his legal team have not only misrepresented his own connections but have also made false and damaging statements about me, in what appears to be an effort to discredit my character.”

Continuing in the brief, Howard said, “One such claim was that I worked at Magic City in Atlanta until 2024. This is false. I have obtained documentation from the Atlanta Police Department showing that my last business license with that establishment expired in 2018 — seven years ago. I have been forthcoming in stating that I have not worked in Georgia for over a decade, and the evidence supports this statement.”

Anthony Edwards counters Ayesha Howard’s claims

An attorney for Edwards responded to Howard’s claims.

“Her only contacts with the state are in connection with her bad faith attempt to game the system and mislead the Court to obtain a California child support order,” the attorney wrote, according to In Touch.

“It is clear that the conception of the minor child was a planned-out scheme for Ayesha, who recently attached documentation demonstrating that she was tracking her ovulation around the time that she became pregnant.”

The attorney continued: “This was a clearly planned financial decision for Ayesha. The parties’ presented their arguments regarding jurisdiction as it relates to child support and the Court made findings in support of its ruling. Ayesha, unhappy with the outcome, now attempts to get a second bite at the apple. Her manipulative and unjustifiable conduct should not be condoned.”
