Collegiate football legend Travis Hunter got married over the weekend to his high school sweetheart, Leanna Lenee, in a luxurious wedding in Tennessee.

Hunter, 22, who blossomed into a superstar under coach Deion “Prime Time” Sanders at Jackson State and then Colorado, exchanged vows on Saturday, May 24, with Lenee, 23, at The Barn at Faith Farms in Athens, Tenn., about 60 miles north of Chattanooga.

Lenee wore two custom-made dresses by New York designer Justin Alexander for her wedding to Hunter, according to Sports Illustrated.

The closest friends and family were bridesmaids and groomsmen

The sports magazine reported that Lenee’s sister Alina served as her maid of honor, while her bridesmaids included her other sister Elisha, her brother Jalen’s wife Gabby, Hunter’s sister Ashley, and four other friends.

Hunter’s friend Fella was his best man, while his brother Trayvis, cousin TJ and Lenee’s relatives were among the groomsmen.

The highly-touted Jacksonville Jaguars’ rookie married Lenee a little more tha a year after he flashed a $100K engagement ring during his wedding proposal to her in February 2024.

“A million times, yes 💍,” Lenee captioned engagement pictures shared on Instagram last year.

Leanna Lenee finally returns to social media

Lenee, who is a prolific content producer on social media, has just returned to Instagram after taking a long moratorium from posting because she was being labeled a “gold-digger” who stumbled on a gold mine with her romance with Hunter.

Moreover, Lenee was cooked to a crisp when she did not stand up after Hunter won the Heisman Trophy — college football’s highest honor — in January. Coach Sanders and members of Hunter’s family did get up during the rousing standing ovation.

Travis Hunter flames Leanna Lenne’s haters

Days later, Hunter, who has fiercely defended Lenee, trashed the public for questioning her loyalty and love for him on his Instagram page.

“I know what I got. I know my girl. My girl’s been with me for five years,” he said at the time. “Y’all are just now starting to talk about me and just now starting to be with me. Come on, man,” he said while telling people to worry about themselves.

“Y’all hate on me and then y’all go hate on my girl,” Hunter added. “I feel the same pain that she feel. We’re unseperable [sic], we’re with each other. If she hurting, of course I’m going to be hurting.”

Many fans remain skeptical of the relationship and marriage

Unfortunately for Hunter and Lenee, his diatribe against his haters failed to deter fans from slinging harsh criticisms their way.

“Bro is cooked,” said one person in the YouTube comments section.

A second person opined, “what an idiot. Now the clock starts. She’ll pop out two kids, leave him taking half his stuff, then demand $60k per month in child support and finally she’ll be sleeping with Pete Davidson making fun of Travis.”

The third commenter said Hunter will learn a hard lesson, saying, “He’s got to go through it. It’s the only way he will learn,” while a fourth predicts doom for Hunter: “She’s going to clean him out, He’s a (clown emoji) for marrying her.”

Finally, a fifth person said, “There’s a reason why pro athletes are called idiots, smfh.”
