Dr. Dre, the genius and architect behind a music revolution in the early 1990s, helped usher in a form of gangsta rap called West Coast G-funk. He also has made a cadre of virtual unknowns into A-list music superstars, including Michele Le, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent and Game. But at the peak of his popularity, he withdrew from the spotlight to focus on producing music for other artists.

Today, Dr. Dre is little more than a rumor in the public these days, but his impact is ubiquitous and unrelenting through his never-ending drive to create new music, occasional popular commercials and fruitful corporate partnerships, most particularly the Beats by Dre headphones, which experienced such phenomenal success that it spawned spin-off headphones by Monster, including Heartbeats by Lady Gaga, Diddy Beats and in-ear headphones.
