Jay-Z will be leaving Brooklyn soon. Several days after announcing a new music deal with Universal, Jay-Z has decided to step away from the Brooklyn Nets. Jay-Z will sell his percentage of the Nets to become a sports agent. Although he only owned about 1 percent of the team, he was positioned as a key figure in the marketing of the Nets move from New Jersey to Brooklyn.

With the creation of Roc Nation sports, Jay-Z has teamed up with Creative Artists Agency to form the sports agency. CAA will handle the negotiations and contracts while Jay-Z handles the marketing and branding of players. The company’s first major signee was Robinson Cano of the New York Yankees.
