Common agrees with Kanye West that Chicago is too violent

Common

Kanye West reignited media attention on Chicago’s rampant gun violence last week when he appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” He claimed that he’s never afraid to fight because he was raised in Chicago’s violent street culture. But now Common is speaking out on the matter as well and agrees with his fellow Chicagoan about their home town being far too violent; he claims that a change will come to make their city a peaceful place.

During an impromptu street interview with TMZ, Common was asked about West’s Chicago comments, to which he replied, “You see what’s going on with the young people right now, there’s a lot of death and violence going on in Chicago. We’re not happy about that. We’re not proud about that,  but we’re gonna make change.”

Hopefully, Common’s words can one day become reality and Chicago will be known for it’s beauty instead of the blood that is senselessly spilled in its streets.
