Chris Brown and Rihanna’s abusive relationship inspired ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ fan fiction

The 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards - Backstage And Audience

Chris Brown and Rihanna’s tumultuous and violent relationship has sparked many things over the years, including angry cries from fans, protests of both artists and, well, criticism from nearly every angle possible. But one thing that no one thought Rih Rih and Breezy’s twisted love affair would spark would be a fan fiction version of the popular book Fifty Shades of Grey based on their love life. But, yeah, you guessed right, that’s exactly what’s happened.

According to RadarOnline, writer J. Lola wrote and published 50 Shades of Sin, which is described on Amazon.com as “the strange story of [pop stars] Robyn [Rihanna’s real name] and Chris, and how they find love in a hopeless place. From the moment they meet, their attraction is explosive. They fall hard for each other. They crave each other every minute of the day. However, they just can’t be together.”

In the book, Lola leaves little question about the fact that she’s talking about Brown and Rihanna. She even bases supporting characters around the former couple’s friends and lovers, basing Robyn’s BFF “Melissa” onRihanna’s real-life cousin and BFF, Melissa Forde, and basing Chris’ “groupie” Asian girlfriend on Karrueche Tran.

But the most shocking element of the book is that the author takes the violent and destructive aspects of Brown and Rihanna’s relationship and turns it into the source of attraction and seduction for Chris and Robyn.

“I was hesitant [to date him],” Robyn says at one point in the book. “I wasn’t sure why, but I felt as if meeting him would open up a box that I wasn’t sure I was ready to open. Thinking back, I realize that there was a part of me blasting out a warning to stay away from Chris then. Even before I met him.”

When Robyn finally does meet Chris, he threatens to break the hand of a bystander who threatens to get in their way. But  that violent streak is exactly what turns Robyn on about Chris.

“I tried to imagine how glorious his muscular 6’4″ frame would look naked,” she says. “I did a double take, utterly ashamed that I was so attracted to this man that I could find such a dangerous situation erotic.”

Even after Chris threatens to “beat the s—” out of Robyn, she stays with him. And when he tells her to leave him because he’s “f—– up,” she replies, “I’m f—– up too. Let’s be f—– up together …”

Well, this certainly sounds like one very twisted read. No wonder the book is garnering such controversy. However, domestic violence is certainly no laughing matter nor a valid source of entertainment. Check out some other celebs who survived real-life abusive relationships below. –nicholas robinson
