The fallout from rape accusations by alleged victims of Bill Cosby is taking its toll. A planned streaming, stand-up comedy special by Cosby that was supposed to air on Nov. 28 of this year has been postponed by the company. There was no reason given for the decision, however, the move comes after former supermodel Janice Dickinson said in an interview that she was sexually assaulted by Cosby in 1982.

The Netflix special, “Bill Cosby 77” and was supposed to commemorate Cosby’s 77th birthday. Netflix issued a statement that said in part, “At this time we are postponing a launch of the new stand-up comedy special ‘Bill Cosby 77.'” There were no other details regarding the company’s decision to postpone. The resurfacing of multiple rape allegations against the comedian in the past two weeks has tarnished the image and reputation of the beloved entertainer. However, this time because of social media, the allegations are being given more credence as fans wonder why so many women are telling the same story. One alleged victim, Barbara Bowman, last week wrote an article for the Washington Post describing in detail her encounter with Cosby and asking the question “Why did it take 30 years for people to believe my story?”

Representatives for Cosby did not respond to the article and for his part, he has refused to answer any questions regarding any of the accusations of rape.
