Although millions of dollars are spent each year to promote safe sex, the rate of sexually transmitted diseases continue to rise across the country. According to the CDC, individuals between the ages of 15 and 24 represent half of the new STD cases. Women under 25 are recommended to be tested for chlamydia every year.
The STDs that are most common includes chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis. Consistent condom use and practicing monogamy can decrease the likelihood of catching an STD.
