Nobody in Hollywood is hotter than Lupita Nyong’o right now. Her win for Best Supporting Actress at last month’s Oscars has launched her into a different stratosphere. And speaking of different stratospheres, word around Tinseltown is that she may be up for a role in J.J. Abrams’ upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII.
Since taking over the franchise last year, Abrams has been relatively mum on who could possibly star in his first film for the brand; but sources have told The Hollywood Reporter that Abrams and Nyong’o met just before the Oscars and that he really likes her.
From The Hollywood Reporter:
Now Nyong’o’s name has surfaced in connection to ‘Star Wars.’ Because of the secrecy, it is unclear which role it could be. One possibility is that of a descendent of Obi-Wan Kenobi, which has been described as a non-Caucasian role.
Nyong’o can currently be seen in the action adventure Non-Stop starring Liam Neeson.
