‘The Croods’ movie review

the croods

The Croods
Stars: Nicolas Cage, Ryan Reynolds, Emma Stone

The Croods are a nice enough bunch; your average, everyday cave dwellers with the same desires as any other prehistoric family. Grug, the patriarch (voiced by Nicolas Cage) is the overprotective sort who thinks it’s not such a good idea to venture out of the cave, so he teaches his children to “never not be afraid.” You gotta love a dad who cares about his family’s safety. But when their cave is destroyed, the Croods are forced to confront a brave new world that is totally alien to everything they know.

Dreamworks Animation has crafted a visually arresting film that’s long on sentimentality, but that’s part of its charm. It would be hard not to have a good time watching this movie.
