2 Chainz Behind Bars
A popular Atlanta rapper is behind bars today after being arrested at a New York airport. 2 Chainz, real name, Tauheed Epps was arrested at LaGuardia Airport today after police discovered brass knuckles in his carry-on bag. The rapper was said to be on his way to a North Carolina rap show when he was taken into custody for misdemeanor possession of a criminal weapon. 2 Chainz is said to still be in custody. Reps for the rapper report that they’re “handling the situation.”
While it’s been reported that the rapper was in possession of brass knuckles, a recording engineer close to the rapper has revealed that the entire ordeal was a mix-up and the rapper was arrested for a piece of jewelry, not a weapon.
“2 Chainz does not own brass knuckles … It’s a 4 finger ring. F— NYC police,” wrote engineer “KY Engineering” on Twitter. Engineering has often been spotted with 2 Chainz and other Southern rappers like Waka Flocka.
Engineering’s claims that the rapper was rocking jewelry and not a weapon are not far-fetched, considering 2 Chainz’s penchant for jewelry. Coincidentally, he was recently spotted with DJ Drama rocking a four-finger ring that could very well be the one that landed him behind bars.
