YMCMB superstar Lil Wayne casually mentioned earlier this week that there is a new Big Tymers project in the pipeline for the label. Labelhead Bryan “Birdman” Williams has confirmed that the project is definitely happening. The original Big Tymers comprised of Birdman and former Cash Money Records producer Mannie Fresh. When asked if Fresh would be involved this time around, Birdman made it clear that this version of the Big Tymers won’t resemble the original duo.

“No. Nah. Not at all,” Birdman told MTV after he was asked if Fresh would be featured. Instead of Fresh, it looks like current Young Money superstar, Drake will be riding shotgun this time around. The original Big Tymers debuted in 1998 with How You Luv That and their final album was 2003s Big Money Heavyweight. The new Big Tymers will likely also feature Wayne, who spoke about Drake’s enthusiasm for the project.

“You can’t even tell him an idea,” Wayne said regarding Drizzy Drake. “I just told him that we were thinking about it and he just hit me and said, ‘We’re lookin’ for some music today.’ ”

In the interview with MTV, Lil Wayne’s impending “retirement” was also addressed. The rapper has hinted that he would be walking away from music following his next installment in his popular Tha Carter series. Birdman said that regardless of what happens after Tha Carter V, Weezy has his full support, personally and professionally.

“I mean, to me, he works so hard, I’ve never seen no human do what he does,” Birdman said. “He’s definitely a machine and whatever decision he makes, I’m gonna support that and we’re gonna find something else to do or whatever he feel like he want to do. I never questioned nothing he does. Honestly. Whatever he does, we’re going to do it together. That’s just how I feel, so, if that’s how he feels, then that’s what it is. Hopefully one day we do see someone but I’ve never seen no one work as hard as him, as many hours as he puts in and puts his life on the line for music, his family and his team. I’ve never saw that from no individual. Ever.”
