R&B superstars Chris Brown and Frank Ocean were reportedly involved in a huge melee at a studio in Los Angeles. TMZ reports that the two got into it outside of the Westlake Studio in L.A.
Brown was at the venue listening to an artist that he represents, and as he was preparing to leave, he was blocked in his parking spot by Frank Ocean’s crew. An unnamed source claims that Ocean said, “This is my studio, this is my parking spot.”
Apparently, Brown tried to diffuse the situation by going to shake Ocean’s hand. But a member of Frank Ocean’s entourage attacked Chris. When the fighting ensued, one of Brown’s friends then attacked Ocean’s associate.
Ocean then physically confronted Chris Brown and the two started fighting each other. Police were then called to the scene.
The two stars have a very contentious history; going back to the summer of 2011 when Brown tweeted what Ocean interpreted as an insult. “I f–k wit Frank Ocean! Reminds me of a young James Fauntleroy or Kevin Cossum,” Breezy posted at the time, to which Ocean responded: “i f–ks wit chris brown, reminds me of a young sisqo or ike turner.”
“@frank_ocean it was a compliment you b-tch a– n—a. Everybody claim to be the devil till they meet him,” Brown blasted back. Brown’s cousins even harassed Ocean shortly thereafter while the two were in the midst of the feud, a videotaped incident that surfaced online.
The stars eventually smoothed over the “misunderstanding,” only for Brown to be involved in another Ocean-related controversy in 2012 after the singer’s huge commercial breakthrough and announced bisexuality.
“Man, no homo,” Brown allegedly told the French paparazzi when he was spontaneously asked about Ocean’s announcement. He later denied any ill will towards Ocean or the LGBT community. “My Opinion on the whole Frank Ocean subject is ……… Love who u wanna love. It’s ur decision. People stop searching for BS,” he tweeted.
And now, there’s this latest incident.
Shortly after the studio altercation, Ocean tweeted his side of the story. “Cut my finger, now I can’t play w two hands at the Grammys,” Ocean claimed via Twitter. “Got jumped by chris and a couple guys. lol. i only wish everest was there.”
“Everest” is Frank Ocean’s dog.
More on this as it develops.
