Chris Brown’s trial delayed until June

Troubled R&B singer Chris Brown will remain behind bars until June.

Last month, the “Fine China” vocalist was imprisoned after getting the boot from rehab, for violating “internal rules.” He was soon after escorted to Washington, D.C. by U.S. Marshals, where he was promptly jailed in Virginia and forced to circulate among other inmates, while awaiting his D.C. trial.

Unfortunately for Brown, his trial, which was to begin yesterday, has been postponed due to the conviction of his bodyguard, Hollosy, who was convicted of assault on Monday in a separate trial and is scheduled to be sentenced July 25. Until then, Brown will have to sit tight.

While every effort was made by Brown’s attorney, Mark Geragos, to get Brown released, Los Angeles Judge Greenberg (the judge in the Rihanna beating case) denied the request as well as a request to set bail. In other words, Brown has been ordered to return to La La Land, where he’ll remain in jail until June, at the very least.

Under the circumstances, we imagine Brown will return to D.C. for his later trial date (to be determined) via a U.S. Marshal escort… again. As previously reported, if convicted of assault, Brown could face up to four years in prison. –ruthie hawkins@ruubabie
