Earlier this week, former Destiny’s Child member Farrah Franklin made headlines when news broke that she was arrested Sunday morning in South Carolina for disorderly conduct. Although details were initially scarce about the arrest, sources are now opening up about exactly what happened when Franklin was taken into custody.
According to TMZ, police say that NFL player Da’Quan Bowers flew Franklin to Myrtle Beach where the two of them and NFL player Ricky Sapp spent all day and night on Saturday drinking while out on the town. However, when they went back to Sapp’s place, it became quite apparent that Franklin was extremely drunk.
Bowers told police that Franklin began acting erratically and that she continually spent extended periods of time in the bathroom leading both Bowers and Sapp to believe she was on drugs.
Bowers says Franklin’s erratic behavior worsened and she became combative, screaming and slamming doors. When Bowers called the police, Franklin fled the house. Police scoured the neighborhood and eventually found Franklin laid out in a neighbor’s yard.
Police say Franklin was “highly intoxicated” and “unsteady on her feet,” however, she denied using any drugs. But it was clear that Franklin was still intoxicated because she told police that she had nowhere to go and that she wanted to go sleep in the woods.
Not surprisingly, police arrested Franklin for disorderly conduct.
Well, even if Franklin wasn’t on drugs, which still has yet to be proven, we highly recommend that she not drink so heavily anymore. Clearly, she can’t handle her liquor or the concept of remaining relaxed when intoxicated. – nicholas robinson
