DJ Drama Reacts to Heavy D's Untimely Death

DJ Drama remembers how Heavy D inspired him during his youth. Like most in hip-hop, DJ Drama was shocked by the untimely death of Heavy D. During his photo shoot with rolling out, DJ Drama took time to speak about Heavy D and his legacy in hip-hop.

“A lot of our architects are passing away. Heavy D was 44 years-old. It was an untimely death. But we have to realize that we are getting older as a culture. With that maturity, these situations will come. There aren’t many people on the earth who could say something bad about Heavy D. I saw him backstage at the BET Hip Hop Awards. It felt good to have been in his presence before he left us. It was amazing that he got to close the BET Hip Hop Awards. It’s amazing that Tower Heist just hit the theaters. As a culture, we have to make sure his legacy lives on,” DJ Drama said. –a.r.
