Gucci Mane will be coming home one year early. According to TMZ, the Atlanta rapper has been granted credit for time served by an Atlanta judge; time that amounts to nearly a year of time served in a gun possession charge following his arrest in September 2013.

In August, Gucci born Radric Davis, was initially sentenced to 39 months after having reached a plea deal on the weapons charges. His sentence was considered to have started at the time of his sentencing with no credit for the time he’d previously served. Gucci is now slated for release in December of 2016.

“He understands he has some work ahead of him and his goal is to bring resolution to this case and get back to performing,” the hip-hop star’s attorney, Drew Findling, told Rolling Stone. “He doesn’t want anything to distract him. He wants to do anything to get back to the work place and the work place is the stage.”

Per the August plea deal, Gucci’s attorney agreed to the rapper entering a drug rehabilitation program and he must be held on the West Coast.

Gucci was arrested last September after police found him in possession of a 45-caliber pistol and bullets. He was already serving probation at the time.
