For some reason, Ice Cube is still committed to releasing a fourth (and supposedly final) entry in his popular Friday film series. Cube has shown already that he’s got a bit of the “Eddie Murphy Disease” when it comes to unnecessary sequels, but more than that, the successful rapper/actor/director has consistently shown that he’s capable of producing some really, really bad movies.
Add that to the fact that there’s hardly ever a reason to do a “Part 4” to anything not named Star Wars, and it doesn’t bode well for Last Friday. Even with original Friday star Chris Tucker, this movie would probably be a bad idea. But that isn’t going to stop Cube.
“Yeah, [Last Friday is] coming,” he said in an interview with 2DopeBoyz. “We’re marinating on it, putting it together. We just turned in the script, so it’s going to take a couple of more months to put it together.”
We know Cube has done some great stuff in movies: the original Friday is a comedy classic and his role as Doughboy in Boyz N the Hood is damn-near iconic, but here are 10 complete misses that should remind him what can happen when he doesn’t show a little cinematic restraint…
