Kanye West reportedly played his entire upcoming album for a few lucky listeners in Paris this week. Ye has been hard at work on his follow-up to last year’s controversial Yeezus and about 20 acquaintances got to hear what he’s got brewing. Theophilus London wrote on Instagram about the experience, but didn’t offer too many details.
“So shortly after this picture I Only remember Kanye playing his new album 3 times in a dark room of 20 people last night and moshing drunk with mad babes haha,” London wrote in a caption for an Instagram photo of him and West. West is executive producing London’s upcoming album Vibes.
Aside from a demo for the unfinished track “All Day” that surfaced online over the summer, West has kept most of the details regarding his seventh album under wraps. Kanye speculated earlier this year that the album would be released during the summer; but that obviously has not happened. Yeezy got married to reality star Kim Kardashian and has been performing shows, all the while tinkering with his latest creation.
“For the new album, one new thing could change everything,” he told GQ back in March. “I had an idea of the way I wanted to do the album. And then I got a new song that’s so good that the album has to be balanced against it. This song is a song that can be in the club like ‘Don’t Like’ or ‘N—as in Paris.’ Whereas before I was working on the album and I had these beautiful songs, they were just more songs. They weren’t saying, ‘Okay, tuck your whole summer in.’ They were just saying, ‘Hey, I’m a great musician, I make these beautiful songs, and they have all this meaning, and nobody can make anything that means this much.’”
