Lil Wayne’s not a human being: The Tuesday new music rundown

lilwayne

Lil Wayne’s harrowing few days have made for some pretty constant—if unfortunate—publicity.  It’s likely that, that bit of bittersweet timing will only help his new album, I Am Not A Human Being II, garner a huge amount of commercial attention. Lil Wayne is virtually standing alone in the urban music sphere this week.

As far as the other interesting new releases hitting shelves, it’s all indie rock everything. But if you like to indulge your more hipster sensibilities, there’s a lot of good stuff to choose from. Two punk-influenced bands (albeit from completely different eras) make their mark—as does a distinctively European vocalist a decade removed from her biggest stateside hit.
