Eminem has always been known as an inflammatory emcee, engaging in high-profile feuds with a slew of fellow big-name artists. And now the Detroit rapper may be striking up another mega-feud after he aimed a diss at pop’s current queen, Lady Gaga, on a new song “A Kiss” from his and fellow Bad Meets Evil member, Royce Da 5’9’s, upcoming album Hell: The Sequel.
According to MTV’s RapFix Live, in the song, Eminem takes a jab at Lady GaGa’s gender status, which has been publicly questioned and made light of in the past.
“Tell Lady Gaga she can quit her job at the post office / She’s still a male lady,” raps Eminem.
Whether the diss is sincere or purely for comedy’s sake is still in the air but this wouldn’t be the first time that Eminem has taken shots at a famous pop starlet. Over the years, Eminem has written scathing rhymes about Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Mariah Carey, even stirring up a beef between him and Carey’s husband, Nick Cannon, over the disses.
Recently, Eminem also humorously targeted hip-hop’s reigning queen, Nicki Minaj. In Bad Meets Evil’s lead single “Fast Line,” Eminem dropped the comically brazen line, “And I hope that I don’t sound too heinous when I say this / Nicki Minaj, but I wanna stick my penis in your a–!”
Although it’s unlikely that Nicki will take offense, fans and critics will have to wait and see if Lady Gaga will respond to Eminem’s (possibly playful) jab. Until then, fans can hear more of Eminem’s crazy punch lines when Hell: The Sequel hits iTunes and record stores on Tuesday, June 7.
