It’s three down for her, two down for him. Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, who have been married for seven years and are parents to 3-year-old twins Max and Emme, formally announced July 15 that they have “decided to end [their] marriage.”
In a joint statement, Lopez, 41, and Anthony, 42, said:
“We have decided to end our marriage,” they told People magazine. “This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters. It is a painful time for all involved, and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time.”
Very few things — especially in the world of sports, music and entertainment — surprise most people anymore. But this one is a jaw-dropper. Not too long ago in an interview, J Lo credited her continued success greatly to her strong relationship with her husband. On this past season of “American Idol,” Anthony appeared on the show and serenaded her as she danced to the rhythm in front of him.
One never knows… All that glitters is not gold, and that’s been proven time and time again. I hope this recent development will not prevent her from returning to a second season as a judge on “Idol.” That role seemed to be a good fit for the quadruple-threat mainstay.
