It looks like Jay-Z — and just about 9 out of 10 guests on the “Maury” show — isn’t the only one facing a paternity scandal these days. To the surprise of many, teen pop sensation and aspiring hip-hop wunderkind Justin Bieber was recently hit with a paternity lawsuit by a woman claiming that he is the father of her 3-month-old baby.
According to RadarOnline, Star magazine has obtained court papers filed in October by a 20-year-old California woman, Mariah Yeater, asking a court to demand Bieber to “undergo a paternity test to scientifically confirm that he is in fact that father of my baby” and “provide adequate support for my baby.”
In an affidavit signed and sworn under penalty of perjury, Yeater says that she had sex with the underage pop star, who was 16 at the time, while backstage at the Los Angeles Staples Center last year when she was just 19.
“After waiting for a short period of time with several young women, Justin Bieber appeared and engaged me in conversation,” Yeater claimed. “Immediately, it was obvious that we were mutually attracted to one another, and we began to kiss. Shortly thereafter, Justin Bieber suggested that I go with him to a private place where we could be alone.”
Yeater continued, “I agreed to go with him and on the walk to a private area, he told me he wanted to make love to me and this was going to be his first time. After walking away from the other people backstage, Justin Bieber found a place where we could be alone — a bathroom. We went inside and immediately his personality changed drastically. He began touching me and repeatedly said he wanted to f–k the s–t out of me. At the time I asked him to put a condom for protection, but he insisted that he did not want to.”
“In his own words, he said that because it was his first time he wanted to feel everything.” Bieber then “quickly took off my clothes,” she said — and the pair had sex.
Yeater then went into detail about the sexual encounter, saying “He was on top of me with my legs around him. At the time I was on top of some type of shelf. The sexual intercourse itself was brief, lasting only approximately 30 seconds.”
After the two were done, Yeater says that “he [Bieber] was clearly embarrassed about how the sex did not last very long. He immediately put on his clothes and blew me off when I asked about seeing him again. I asked him for his private phone number, but he insisted on taking my phone number.”
Yeater continued, “We had no paper or anything to write it down on, and Justin Bieber was clearly not interested in getting his cell phone or any paper. He said he would just remember the number, which I told him.”
After learning that she was pregnant, Yeater says that she tried to contact Bieber through his reps to inform him of the news, “But no one ever called me back,” Yeater wrote.
And though many are already challenging Yeater’s claims, the young woman’s grandfather, Eddie Markhouse, recently spoke with “Inside Edition” to say that his granddaughter isn’t a liar.
“I don’t know the whole story. But, from what I understood, she met him at a concert and he sent two security guards down off of the stage to bring her backstage to meet him,” Markhouse said. “She said they partied, had some drinks and they indulged in sex … She’s basically an honest good person. She’s got a big heart. She’s a good kid and she loves this baby.”
Bieber’s reps have vehemently denied the accusations, saying “While we haven’t yet seen the lawsuit, it’s sad that someone would fabricate malicious, defamatory, and demonstrably false claims. We will vigorously pursue all available legal remedies to defend and protect Justin against these allegations.”
Back in February, Bieber, who is currently dating fellow teen star Selena Gomez, spoke with Rolling Stone about his views on sex, saying, “I don’t think you should have sex with anyone unless you love them. I think you should just wait for the person you’re … in love with.”
A court hearing on the matter has been set for Dec. 15. –nicholas robinson
