Pharrell and Beyoncé rule the 2014 Billboard Awards

The 2014 Billboard Music Awards nominations have been released and leading the pack this year are super producer Pharrell Williams and the queen of pop music, Beyoncé Knowles.

Both Williams and Knowles lead the pack with a total of seven nominations, including Top R&B Artist, Top Radio Song, Top R&B Album, Top Hot 100 Song, Top Female-Male Artist and more.


Coming in close on their heels, Robin Thicke and T.I. picked up five nominations for “Blurred Lines,” which received mass radio play late last year. Eminem also joins the lineup, with six nominations including Top Rap Artist, while Hollywood’s hot new item, Rihanna and Drake, follow close with five nominations of their own.

As for Beyoncé’s beau, Jay Z nabbed four nominations this year with his protegé, J. Cole, scoring a nomination for Top Rap Album. Other notable nominations of the night include Bruno Mars with three nominations and R. Kelly’s Top R&B Album nomination.


This year’s Billboard Music Awards will be at held the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and air on Sunday, May 18th on ABC at 8:00 p.m. EST. – ruthie hawkins/@ruubabie
