Singer Rihanna can’t seem to shake rumors of a relationship with Ashton Kutcher, not even from her own mother. In late March, news spread of the 23-year-old songstress dating the 34-year-old actor after she was spotted at his home in the wee morning hours.
Her mother, Monica Braithwaite, who obviously stays abreast of a pop culture, made a joke about the situation at Times‘ 100 dinner honoring the “100 Most Influential People in the World.”
Although Rihanna was named one of the most influential by the publication, she still couldn’t help but blush when her mother brought up her rumored romance.
“Well….2nt consisted of us singing Bob Marley, drinkin Vintage Scotch, and my mom thinkin a joke abt Kutcher was appropriate! #Thxtime100,” Rihanna wrote on Twitter.
Despite her mother’s antics, Rihanna still managed to pull it together and rocked a classy pink ball gown while posing for photo ops and sharing Instagram pictures with fans.
Along with Ashton, Rih Rih’s been linked to her ex Chris Brown and most recently a woman that she was spotted holding hands with on a date. That woman however happens to be her best friend and assistant Melissa Forde who she often unabashedly takes by the hand.
Although Rihanna’s mother gave her a cringeworthy moment, she’s not the first mom to embarass their celebrity spawn.
